IMPORTANT NOTICE PSRS/SSA Issue Update from Missouri ACTE and Sarah Topp, Gamble & Schlemeier
|
Missouri ACTE, represented by Sarah Topp, participated in an education roundtable meeting regarding the PSRS/SSA issue with the state Social Security Administrator on Tuesday, November 18, at the invitation of Dr. Kent King.
Following that meeting education stakeholders, including Missouri ACTE, met to discuss other options that we will collectively pursue. As a result of our efforts so far, the Missouri United States Congressional Delegation have jointly requested an urgent meeting with the commissioners of the IRS and SSA. That meeting is in the process of being scheduled.
Yesterday Sarah Topp was in Washington DC making hill visits and can personally attest to the attention this issue is receiving from our federal delegation. No one has any answers at this point. At a minimum we hope to get an implementation delay to give us time to remedy this situation.
Contact your federal representatives and senators to alert them that this could directly impact you! Email is the best contact – letters are delayed for several weeks. If you are not sure who is your representative go to http://www.acteonline.org/issues.aspx and enter your zip code.
Contact all Senators and Representatives through their websites Via Web Form:
We have also alerted the Association for Career and Technical Education and are keeping them up to date on the progress of this issue.
